I'm Moving on Up

Yes we're moving on up. To the second floor. Yes I've finally got a piece of the pie.
So its official...I have been promoted at work! I no longer spend my days on the road delivering footage to and fro. I am now an assistant sound editor which unfortunately does not really involve much sound editing, but the title is cool and I get to join the union, so its all good.
A series of rhetorical questions:
What does the new job entail? Well for the most part as a assistant sound editor I am responsible for making dubs of media to prepare it for broadcast as well as features and anything else people feel like throwing at us. Beyond that we run the narration booth and are in charge of recording narrations both from our own sound booth as well as over the ISDN lines.
Do you have a desk or any special amenities? Sorta. There are two desks and there are two of us here during the day. But no one desk belongs to any one of us. We have a huge window that overlooks Cahuenga and has a great view of the Hollywood sign.
How are your hours? Awesome. I'm not sure if I'm the 8 or 9 o'clock guy yet, but I will rarely if ever be needed for more than 8.5 hours a day. Amazing!
So all and all life is going quite well between the promotion and a new friend. Now if the White Sox could piece a quality season together we'll really be in business.
